Hamburg Flights Hamburg, Germany is well-connected to all the world’s major cities through flights to and from Hamburg Airport. Hamburg Airport is an expansive airport covering more than 2.2 square miles and is currently being expanded. It is the oldest German international airport still in operation today. France, England, Ireland, Scandinavia, and the United States are all served by airlines that travel to Hamburg. Many flights to Hamburg from the United States have at least one stop and originate in either Newark, New Jersey or Chicago, Illinois. United Airlines and American Airlines are two United States airlines that offer flights from the United States to Hamburg. For cheaper airfares from European cities to Hamburg, travelers can use Ryanair, WizzAir, and Jet2com. Ryanair is based in Ireland, WizzAir is a Hungarian-based airline, and Jet2com is a British airline. All three are advertised as low-cost, economy airlines, and many of their flights arrive in Flughafen Lubeck Blankensee, or Lubeck Blankensee Airport, instead of Hamburg Airport. Luebeck Blankensee Airport is located about thirty-seven miles east of Hamburg, but Hamburg is usually listed as the destination in flight advertisements. These airlines do not serve the United States.
